Today's COVID-19 update:
New cases in the state overnight were 68 for a total of 6,338. New Deaths reported were 3 for a total of 329.
The Governor has stated that we are moving into PHASE 3 on June 1, 2020 What does that mean for you?
When can funerals resume and how many people should be allowed?
Larger funerals may resume with appropriate social distancing guidelines in place. Individuals should consult with the venues to ensure appropriate social distancing and the maximum number of guests. They could offer seating with six feet distance between family groups and/or alternating rows or pews. Funeral service venues should follow guidance for places of worship. Funeral reception venues should follow guidance for restaurants.
Masks are recommended but not required by law. I always wear a mask if I am in a public area.
Vital Records will not be opening the lobby:
OSDH has determined it is necessary to delay opening the VR lobby until they are able to adequately assure the safety of the public and the staff. All VR lobbies will remain closed and will not reopen Monday June 1.
Until further notice, please continue to submit your records timely and order your records online. VR is registering records and issuing all complete requests for records that are on file within one (1) business day.
