Oklahoma Funeral Service Licensure Exams


A candidate is eligible to sit for the Oklahoma State Funeral Director, and/or the Oklahoma State Embalmers Exam, if they meet one of the following conditions:

1)   Candidate is a graduate of a funeral service/mortuary science program accredited by The American Board of Funeral Service Education (or)

2)   Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association receives confirmation from a funeral service/mortuary science program accredited by The American Board of Funeral Service Education, indicating the candidate is eligible, and is in their final eight weeks of instruction before graduation.

Oklahoma State Funeral Directors Exam 

The Oklahoma State Funeral Directors Exam is a 125 question exam consisting of both multiple choice and true/false questions. You have 150 minutes to complete the exam. You must score 75% or higher to pass the exam. 

You will be provided with a basic four-function calculator to use on the exam, as well as a blank sheet of paper and pen/pencil to make calculations and notes during the exam. These papers must be turned into the exam proctor at the conclusion of the exam. 

Results of the exam will be sent to the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association. 

The items below are PROHIBITED during the Exam

-Mobile Phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices
-Notes, books, or reference materials 
-Any materials that may be used toward academic dishonesty
-Bags, pouches, backpacks, purses
-Food and drink (unless permitted for medical reasons)
-Calculators (except specifically allowed and provided by the testing center)

Any activity with the intention to engage in academic dishonesty (cheating on the exam) will result as an automatic failure and the incident will be reported to the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association. 

Oklahoma State Embalmers Exam

The Oklahoma State Embalmers Exam is a 125 question exam consisting of both multiple choice and true/false questions. You have 150 minutes to complete the exam. You must score 75% or higher to pass the exam.

After exam registration is complete and payment made the candidate will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule an appointment with the UCO Testing Center within 72 hours excluding State and Federal Holidays.  

You have thirty (30) days from your registration date to schedule and complete your exam. If you wait longer than 30 days, please email test@okfda.com so we can update your records.

If you do not receive a passing grade on your exam, you must wait seven days before rescheduling to retake  the exam.
